GCOE

"Education and Research Center for Photonics and Electronics Science and Engineering" and the "Informatics Education and Research Center for Knowledge-Circulating Society," which are Kyoto University's research centers involving faculty members of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, were chosen as the "Global COE Program" by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, in which 13 research centers in the nation are selected in the fields of Information sciences, electrical and electronic sciences. The objective of the G-COE Program is to foster highly creative young researchers who will go on to become world leaders in their respective fields through experiencing and practicing research of the highest world standard. At present, many students currently enrolled in a doctor's course after graduating from the School of Electrical and Electronics of Engineering, Kyoto University are working on research with ambitions to become world-class researchers.
